Tips:
- Inspect your deck by listening to squeaks and soft spots in the wood.
- Washing your deck- Decks must be washed of debris using a pressure washer before making any repairs. Always make sure the stream is flowing in a steady direction to avoid gouging the wood on the deck.
- Check for nail pops, split wood – These pieces may need to be replaced.
- Check if deck is due for sealing- Wet weather and sun can cause corrosion and discolouration. Once the deck is thoroughly clean and dry, sprinkle some water and see if the water drops bead up- if the water soaks right through the wood, it may be time for re-sealing.
